yes I prefer Internet over TV and sports for entertainment when I was away from home because if we are in office we can have always access to Internet than TV.
1.To know latest headlines I use twitter than seeing TV news channels.Latest news first comes on Internet than TV.
2. we can watch TV channels through Internet also that’s another advantage.
3.I can spend a day without watching TV but I can’t imagine a day withoutsurfing the web that’s how the impact of Internet on us.

Simran May 26, 2009

Milan Somani May 26, 2009

Gautam May 26, 2009

I prefer Internet because of the following reasons:
1) I have fast net so I can watch live TV easily πŸ˜›
2) I can read blogs (like DevilsWorkshop πŸ˜› ) & RSS Feeds, surf net, chat, solve people’s probs, go to social networking etc side by side.
3) No ads (I use adblock plus plugin πŸ˜› )
4) Be in touch with friends rather than having large phone bills.
5) Who doesn’t like internet?? πŸ˜›

Arjun S Kumar May 27, 2009

Yeah.. I prefer being on internet more. The main reason is I hate those Ads in between TV programs also while surfing over the net we will find some extra ordinary news rather than what we get on TV.

More over Internet is the new henerations home..!! πŸ˜›

hmmmm…. Internet or TV….. a number of thoughts rain in my head…. fine…. I ll settle down for TV…..poor guy does not have any supporters…. TV here I come……

The foremost TVantage is that…. I’m free of Trojans, Virus etc etc…. no need to do the regular security check….. Time + Money Save…. The next valid argument is that …. there is no other comfort like munching a bowl of popcorn, sipping some coke in regular intervals while watching TV…. πŸ™‚ Next thing is that… Any thing without a bit of change becomes monotonous…. so, The TV ads provide the best change in between so that u kno…. by chance u get a leak in berween , u need not miss the action….. πŸ™‚ So guys… The Internet is there….. but there is nothing like the good old pal , out TV…. so come on…. stick on to the magic…..

Gautam May 27, 2009

Some more points to add:
6) You can rewing, pause or record the live streaming. (Unless you have Tatasky+)
7) We can participate in contests such as this. πŸ˜›

Just for fun: If the question would have been life vs computer, then my answer would be: There is no ctrl+z in life πŸ˜›

Vaibhav May 27, 2009

For me it was a nice experiance in office as bandwidth is available and quality is not a issue, but when I am home I wont compramise on quality and i don’t want to invest more that what i am putting into it right now.

And then live streaming will be more usable if its on my mobile. i am expecting a combo plan from reliance to offer on bigTV as well as on my reliance mobile.

Rishi Dube May 27, 2009

No. Internet streaming is slow compared to TV. So I prefer watching on TV!

Santosh May 27, 2009

I prefer Internet over TV because….
1. Internet gives me more option to choose for Entertainment than TV (video, audio, photos, chatting, etc).

2. Can block ads on Internet but cant on TV.

3. Torrent to download latest movies, songs, videos.

Pradip May 27, 2009

ha ah, for sport it is as my one tab always show the score board of cricket or football or F1, its nice to be in touch without being disturbed by all the ads.

ho oh, for entertainment that is music and movies here also PC or shall i say INTERNET form last few months.

but some how the idiot box (TV) wins against stupid box (PC).

pranay airan May 27, 2009

i would preferred internet over television

=> yes its true that streaming is slow but i have a fast connection and a good streaming is seen

=> Moreover since we live in College hostel access to television is difficult then accessing internet. If television is there it is in general room where you don’t have any control

=> with Internet live streaming it provide us the flexibility to watch if person having a laptop and WiFi connection he can sit any where watching the live stream

=> you don’t need to pay for Cable charges when you watch it on internet since you are already paying internet bill this make it cost effective

=> no need to buy a separate TV set or TV tuner you can use ur Desktop or laptop for watching

=> you have a flexibility of Channels that you can watch channel like Fox and other world class channels are not available in India so it give’s an exposure to a worldwide scenario which is the main purpose of internet

=> we can from a group of like minded people while watching live channels on internet via chat service available with the streaming site which helps us share over thoughts over a program and can get feedback of what others are thinking about this

So for all this reasons i would recomend Internet over TV

kapil May 27, 2009

As a artist TV is preferable due to bombardment of content is a click away, and u do not need any focus for that.

S.Pradeep Kumar May 27, 2009

Buddy we can rewind everything in Internet .. I guess.. we can go back… but not so in Televisions ! πŸ™‚

Exception : Tata Sky, Airtel DTH, etc ! πŸ˜›

Rohit May 27, 2009

Entertainment, huh??
OK, I cant use tabs to hide my TV channels naa..What If my parents catch me watching what I am not supposed to?? I hope you understand what I am referring to.:) Also, I don’t find spicy content on TV as in Internet websites.. I very well get away with my PC in this case. TV is not an interactive medium and PC helps me connect to my Online friends! Talking about Sports, What If I miss out on a Must-Watch Match and there are no news regarding it on the TV, Internet will surely give me the Update

Sagar May 27, 2009

Can i watch vintage cricket star’s list and their performance on TV, how am i suppose to compare Internet and TV.
Can i watch AR rahman concert again and again on TV.

Apoorva Kohli May 27, 2009

Yes, Becoz ,call me a brat but i dont like content being pushed on me i like my stuff when i want where i want it and entertainment is not left alone.even though tv has evolved lot but internet still remains the real interactive medium living and breeding and growing with and by it users. I like to watch mobile review videos off the youtube and with the youtube mobile client its great. hope u get the idea. One things for sure Internet and it iThings r here to stay n rock.

Surun May 28, 2009

Internet is better as we can google around for any information regarding show we are watching!

Jiggy May 28, 2009

I like TV. Matches on Internet are delayed and also quality of streaming is nowhere closer to broadcast quality of TV.
By the way I really wish to have all T20 worldcup matches on Internet as well so I can catch up with them from my office! πŸ˜‰

Prafful May 28, 2009

INTERNET preferred, i like to keep watch on world music which is not available properly on TV and is limited.

Ankit May 28, 2009

I use both. It depends where I am. In office, Internet is better. At home, TV is better. The best is to watch match on TV at home with laptop open so that if you need any info you can get it from Internet.

anurag May 28, 2009

yes internet is prefferd medium over telivision

coz

we can do multitasking through internet which is impossible on telivision.

at one tym v r chating and on the same tym v can see whts happenin on the other part of the world

we can share over views over differnt topics .

telivision gives us only specific news but through internet we can get detailed news .

newspapers can be accessed through internet

if we hav missed any match ve can only see the headlines on telivision but on internet we can get the detailed score.

internet can be accesed anywhere through mobile so we can get in touch wd the other parts of the world if we r in remote area.

teher are many advantages of internet over telivision for entertainment.

we can watch online movies ,listen latest songs.

Nilesh Patni May 28, 2009

Internet rocks anytime. TV is for oldies.

Adithya May 28, 2009

Live TV on internet would be my choice any given day. I would like to point out some of the reasons :
1) With Internet TV, you don’t have to pay any monthly subscription fee. No recurring charges, ever! With just a one-time and small setup fee, you can enjoy stations for months and months and years.
2)There are close to 4,000 channels broadcasted from over 70 plus countries worldwide! With Internet TV, you have a wide selection of channels to choose from, news, movies, education, religion, kid’s channels, shopping, sports, music. Anden, since it’s coming from 70 plus countries worldwide, you can really get a better understanding of other cultures, and what’s happing around the world. You get to see local, regional, and national broadcasts from different countries so you become more informed.
3)Thinking of portability.By just installing the software on your laptop, you can bring your favorite soap, talk show, news, or any live TV broadcast for that matter, wherever you go! In addition to that, you can easily switch to e-mailing or Internet searches during commercial breaks. How’s that for flexibility?
4)How many times have you seen a wicket fall or a goal scored and the channel immediately cuts the coverage and starts showing ads.Its so annoying. With Internet TV that is not the case.
5) There is also the wonderful option to watch your favourite program again and again which is not the case with the Television
(unless you have digital TV which is a costly option)

The only problem you can have with internet TV is the bandwidth. Streaming takes hell lot of time unless you have a business connection. Leaving this aspect I will definitely prefer Internet over TV.

Bhargav Sai May 28, 2009

For me, the answer is divided in two ways.

For Sports, Internet is not my preferred medium. The reason for my opinion is, on Internet we can get involved with Sports but for many users the involvement is rather static and without moving media(videos etc). Because in India(and for me also), many people do not possess the transfer speeds nor the download limit to enjoy videos on the go. It takes significant amount of time to buffer videos, and generally therefore people prefer not to watch videos and just read. While on T.V. with the foray of many news channels, almost all through the day one can watch sport updates, videos and other news related to sports and it does not involve much of reading. And with on-demand TV, we can watch matches and highlights whenever possible. For High bandwidth users, Internet is a world with infinite dimensions to choose from.

For Entertainment, I prefer Internet over Television, but Internet wins by a infinitesimal margin, simply because on Internet I am a king in my own kingdom, I can do whatever, customize, talk, share, involve and interact with anyone at anytime and anyway. In Internet, I can connect with people, if I do not want to connect with certain somebody then I can ignore then easily. No Frills, no limits. TV also has many choices, but we are limited to watch whatever channels show us and we can do nothing much than change a channel if we don’t like one. So, I choose Internet in the Entertainment category over Television.

Brijesh May 28, 2009

yes INTERNET,
while i am driving to collage,
while i am waiting for my order in canteen,
when my Girl does not show up on time.

Do i have some other option?
