Many new windows applications requires latest version of Microsoft .NET framework which is version 3.5 at the time of of writing of this post.
If you go to Microsoft download center, then by default you will get live installer of approximately 2-3 MB’s while complete .NET framework requires 50-200 MB. Actually on the same page they are links to complete setup but they are placed in a way that anyone can hardly notice them. Seems like Microsoft wants you to download live installer but there are problem with live installer…
- It may hang forever if you have slow internet connection like dial-up, GPRS, etc.
- You can not use it at all if your computer is not connected to internet
- Also if you are running pirated Windows better not to use any software/installer from Microsoft which connects to Internet
So here I am giving you links to complete Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 & 3.5 setups which are gathered from Microsoft pages (links: v3.5 & v3.0)
# Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Setup
- 32-bit version (Size: ~200MB)
# Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Setup
- 32-bit Version (Size: ~50MB)
- 64-bit Version (Size: ~90MB)
Do not worry about authenticity of above links as they are from Microsoft’s server only!

In this case you can use download manager to directly download .NET framework.
So I don’t think Windows validation comes into picture.

You can download this from a cyber cafe.
Once downloaded, you will not need internet connection at the time of installation.

This link is very very useful, can download the framwork in one big download rather than downloading the first 2.5Mb download and then waiting it to download by it self

i have downloaded .net 3.5 already by hitting the link you gave above .. when i try to install its say the file is corrupted and the installation stops in the first three seconds after i run the set up .. is the set up file still working please ???

The reason I’m asking is because I downloaded it and tried to run an application that required the use of NET Framework but the application didn’t recognized NET Framework.

I’ve lookin’ for this stuff for last few days but can NOT found it til I brought up here….
I had Net Framework 3.5 in my Dell Inspiron 9200. I had a problem and I removed it; When I tried to reinstall it from microsoft I keep getting ’setup error’ when I tried to reinstall it through you web site I get the same error message ’setup error’. I have used several programs including Paretologic RegCure to repair and optimize my pc however I continue to get the same error message whenever I try to reinstall Net Framework 3.5

Thanks a lot for the post with full setup file of .net frame. It has always been a pian in Butt to download this file.
I am now trying to install the 3.5 version and it says it encountered a problem and cannot install. I removed all the previous versions of .net frame manually, cleaned the registry before installing. I am using Windows XP SP3. I tried installing windows installer 3.1 but, it said since i am using the latest service pack its not needed.
please help me install this.

Both are different version. But if you are not sure about your requirements please go for 200MB version.

Try pasting that error message on “Google”. You will find some help.

What is size of file you have downloaded?
Because once you directly download entire setup file, it will get install without connecting to Internet.

I downloaded the 200MB file size but if I disconnected from the internet, it will slowly install. When I check the log file, it trying to install those multiple language pack which I don’t need…….very strange and no ideal what wrong….

If you have Internet then keep it on while running 200MB installer.

I had to uninstall Net.Framework because the files got corrupted. When I tried to reinstall Net.Framework. I was able to reinstall Net.Framework 1, 2 and 3 However I cannot see Net.Framework 3 and cannot install Net.Framework 3.5 and 3.5 SP1. I continually get error 1935 and 2908. I have run registry cleanup and spyware several times and I am running out of patiences.
Shot for the stuff man. Also had same issue that it kept wanting to reestablish connection. Annoying. Apparently net.framework 4.0 is out. true??? should we try get it or waste of time??

I am not updated with recent status of .NET framework releases. But if I come across any recent version like 4.0 I will post about it.
I have a Dell Inspiron 9200 with windows XP. I had to much corruption with my OS. I did a new reinstall of my OS. I did not reinstall explorer 8 or Net Framework 3.5 SP1 and everything seem to be working fine. Thanks F Cancel
